When Brittni reached out to me in early January asking me to be their wedding and engagement photographer I could hardly contain my excitement. These two are going to have a beautiful fall wedding in Downtown Indianapolis at Regions Tower! As we started planning their engagement session we found that the best setting that described them and their love was right in the heart of Indianapolis. We began our morning bright an early at 6:30am and it was totally worth it. We had so much yummy light for their portraits and I couldn’t love them more! Then we popped over to the Indiana War Memorial and the magic continued. Thank you both so much for an amazing morning we had the best time with you both and are so excited for your wedding this fall.
Lindsey & Justin’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful and full of so much love. They were married at the gorgeous Sycamore at Mallow Run. Every detail was perfect and I am so excited to share a few more images from their wedding day.
The Bridal Suite at the Sycamore at Mallow Run is stunning we just love all the natural light that pours in.
During the reception we snuck out for a few more photos and this time is always so magical softer light and more time for the bride and groom to spend some time snuggling and sharing lots of kisses.
We loved all the burgundy and gold accents that Lindsey had paired up for her wedding day it really added the perfect touch to this winery wedding.

This week I have so many emotions flowing through my mind…. It has been two years since we stood at the alter with a picturesque backdrop of Cinderella’s Castle off in the distance at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion in Walt Disney World with our closest friends and family saying our vows to each other and promising our happily ever after. Our wedding was straight out of a fairytale and no detail went untouched with the help of all our family, friends, wedding planner, photographer, and Disney’s Fairytale Weddings Team. We are so incredibly thankful for each and everyone of them who made our day so special. We love you!
Today, as I sit back and reminisce on that Monday morning in June I can’t help but think how incredibly blessed we were and are. You see way before Matthew and I were engaged I remember stumbling across a gorgeous photo with birds eye view of Disney’s Wedding Pavilion on the Seven Seas Lagoon and saying to Matthew, ” that’s where we have to get married.” (of course never even thinking it would be possible) Fast forward several years later to a surprise proposal in Disney’s the Magic Kingdom which also happened to be both of ours first trip to Disney and a walk past the Wedding Pavilion we knew instantly there was no other place for us to begin our Happily Ever After.
I had so many favorite moments throughout our wedding day, but a few that stood out was our first look at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort at the fountain I remember all the butterflies as I slowly walked up to Matthew so he could see me the first time that day. This time was so special for us because wedding days are so busy and for just a few moments it got to be just us. (and of course our photographers) Then, later as I walked down the aisle to Tangled’s I See the Light, I will never forget seeing his face and saying our vows to one another in front of all our family and friends. Then the reception… oh my goodness we walked into the room and I was just in complete aww it was purely magical as everything always is at Disney. With the gorgeous lighting and twinkling candles, to the Cinderella Castle projection and fireworks on the wall. I literally felt like we walked into a scene from a Disney movie! We also spent eight weeks prior to our wedding working on a special choreographed first dance to A Whole New World from Aladdin, the fun part was none of our guest knew we kept it a complete surprise for everyone! Then are you ready for it we had surprise guest appearance. Mickey and Minnie showed up at our wedding and danced with us and our guests. We loved it the children loved it, even the adults loved it. That’s what Disney does they bring back all the magic of your childhood all the memories! It was one of the best days ever and truly magical in everyway!
To Matthew, thank you for being my best friend, husband, and amazing daddy to our little girl and our pup. Thank you for always supporting my dreams and all of your hard work and crazy shifts and hours. Thank you for being my travel buddy and making me do things that I am afraid of. Its always and adventure with you and I am so blessed to be able to walk through this journey called life with you! Two years down and many more to go I know our future wont always be easy but as long as its with you I know it will be perfect for us! I love you! Happy 2nd anniversary.

Oh my goodness you guys I have the sweetest proposal story lined up for you and its straight from the Groom’s perspective and its giving me all the feels. When I photographed Haileigh and James Engagement Session a few weeks ago in addition to taking their photos I always love to use the time to get to know my couples and one of the questions I always will ask is how did you meet? And how did he propose? When James shared their proposal story with me I was simply blown away so needless to say I asked him if he wouldn’t mind sharing it with our readers. So here you go, its a tear jerker for sure.
My philosophy on meeting “the One” is that you can’t be expecting to meet them. I wasn’t. Far from it. I was supposed to move to Bloomington Indiana for a year, get my degree in History, and move to wherever my career would take me. I never for a second expected that the love of my life was going to school 45 short minutes away. Here I was, 10 hours away from my friends, family, and all that I loved. I was miserable, until I picked up his phone one day and tried online dating. After a few unsuccessful weeks, I was considering giving it up. I hadn’t had a single date yet. Then, one lazy afternoon, my phone buzzed. I had a new match. One look was all it took. “Oh my gosh, she’s beautiful”, I exclaimed aloud. I messaged her immediately and asked for a date.
After a few nervous dates, I asked Haileigh if she wanted to be my girlfriend. By this time, Haileigh knew this was for real. Throughout my year in Indiana, we traded weekends frequently, I going to Indianapolis, she coming to Bloomington. We were both blissfully happy.
Then, I accepted a job in Nebraska, and the distances went from 45 minutes to 10 hours. The times went from once a week to once a month, sometimes longer. But through it all, all the tears, all the frustrations, all the airport goodbyes, we kept our love alive. If anything, our love grew stronger.
The proposal was a long planned event. Working with Haileigh’s family, I would fool her into thinking I was going to the lake with his buddies, when I was really driving to overnight to Indiana to surprise her. I picked one of their favorite hiking spots, Yellowwood State Park near Nashville. Haileigh’s parents said they were going hiking. With help from my friend Blair, I made crude signs with important dates of their relationship (first date, first kiss, first asked her dad) pointing up the hill. As Haileigh walked towards the top of the hill where I was hiding, she exclaimed to her family “Ooh I think someone is getting proposed to!” With a signal from Blair, I popped up over the top of the hill, ring in hand. Haileigh, still several yards away, stopped dead in her tracks. Her mouth fell open. “What!?”, she exclaimed. “What?!” With a squeal, Haileigh ran up the hill. I said “All the miles, all the flights, and all the goodbyes have made this moment all the more special. You make me happier than I ever thought I could be or deserved to be. Haileigh Victoria Lakin, will you marry me?”
So we took last week off with it being a holiday weekend but we are back to blogging now and I am so excited to share this wedding with you guys. Over the past year and a half I have had the pleasure of getting to know Whitney and Austin and their love for each other is just as classic and timeless as their gorgeous wedding. We made the trip up to Fort Wayne, IN for their special day and the church was beyond beautiful with the architecture and fun arches and it had so much personality and made the perfect backdrop for some stunning bridal portraits. Her dress was a gorgeous Mori Lee and so elegant with beautiful lace details. It rained on their wedding day but just as we needed to step out for portraits the rain magically stopped and we were able to sneak out for some amazing shots in Fort Wayne’s Lakeside Rose Gardens and it was amazing. As if I didn’t think the day could get any better then we walk into the reception and the room was simply mesmerizing. Whitney had DIY’d everything and the crystals hanging from the candelabras glistened perfectly in the blue up lighting and it was beyond beautiful. In case your wondering and trying to decide if you should up light your reception the answer is always yes! Their first dance was beyond precious! Thank you guys again from the bottom of my heart for choosing us to be your wedding photographer and capture your special day.

Emma & Isaac are a super sweet couple and we are so thrilled to be photographing their wedding this August. We did their engagement session at the beginning of the month and we had been blessed with so much warm weather but on the night of their engagement session it was so so cold, dreary, and windy, but let me tell you we had so much fun and I am loving how soft and airy these images are.
Wow this session was absolutely amazing! Nicole & Joey are so in love and they are such a super fun and cute couple. They made our job so easy. We spent the evening walking around Fort Harrison State Park enjoying lots and lots of kisses and cuddles, lots of laughs, and following the gorgeous light. These two are getting married at one of our favorite barn venues this summer. The Barn at Kennedy Farm! If you have not seen this gorgeous venue make sure to tune in later this year to see a peek into their wedding day.
We are also running an amazing offer for all Brides & Grooms. If you book a wedding with us before May 31st 2017 then you will receive $500.00 off your 10 hour wedding day package! This offer will also include a free engagement session at the location of your choice.
( This offer is only valid on new bookings as of 5-2-17 for 2017 and 2018 weddings only. This offer is limited two one per a couple and has no monetary value, and can not be switched out for other offers and is non transferrable.
